EVERY STORY BEGINS WITH A NAME
Michele Ridolfi
Born in Rome (1992) and raised with love, books and music. During my time at the scientific high school I developed my interest for technologies, science and physics. Music has always gone hand in hand with my passion for science, and the electric guitar has always been my companion on this journey. So, I chose to study IT Engineering to merge the two paths of my pursuits into one.
My Thesis
I enrolled the University of Roma Tre in Rome, and during my bachelor's degree, I became fascinated by the world of microcontrollers and their integration with the web and IoT. Thesis: Web Server Interface for a Neural Control System for Embedded Environment Then I followed the path chosen by pursuing a Master's degree, but with a twist: I spent one year studying at UPV (Universitat Politècnica de València) in Spain. I have explored coding and music and I created a thesis project involving real-time analysis of a guitar signal. Thesis: Java Interface for a Harmonic and Tonal Recognition System
Work Experiences
During my university years, I worked as an external consultant for the UN/FAO to assist in the preparations and providing IT services at CRC and POPRC meetings. Performed every year from 2014 to 2019. I worked also as Database Manager in collaboration with Secretariat staff in Geneva. Performed from 09/2018 to 12/2018. After my master's thesis, I got a long-term contract with Open Reply, where I worked primarily for two clients. I started as backend Java Developer and Software Engineer for ISBD Intesa San Paolo in 2020. Then I continued as Software Architect and Infrastructure Admin for BMW from 2021 to 2024.
Passions and future
I love reading and writing. I have seven years of experience as an editor and editor-in-chief for the Italian music webzine Metallized.it, where I published 100+ articles. Gathering my friends to play board games is a favourite pastime of mine. I am currently running a fantasy role-playing game campaign. As musiscian I use DAWs to compose, record and handle mix and master. I have recorded and published two albums and I am currently working on my third one. Looking ahead to the future, I have started studying audio programming and IT aspects connected to music. If you would like to know more about my IT skills, please look at my Tech Expedition.
